Question 1

Who is Han Kim Thuy?

Accepted Answer

This is the portfolio of Han Kim Thuy (Hàn Kim Thủy). I am a Product Engineer — a full-stack software engineer with a UX lens. You can reach me at thuyhankim@gmail.com, on GitHub and LinkedIn (hankimthuy), or at https://hankimthuy.com.

Question 2

Are you available for remote freelance Product Engineer work?

Accepted Answer

Yes—outside my full-time role I take scoped freelance work remotely, with clients in Vietnam and worldwide (I work from GMT+7). Typical engagements include UX-oriented development, product discovery, and helping small teams ship user-focused products. Message me on LinkedIn with the problem, audience, and timeline—or email if you prefer.

Question 3

What drives you to build products?

Accepted Answer

I'm driven by empathy. For me, a product is simply a solution to a real human problem. My motivation comes from seeing something I've built actually reduce someone's frustration, save them time, or (like Mirafolio, the product I’m building now) spare them rewriting the same CV for every job.

Question 4

Why do you focus on UX-Oriented Development?

Accepted Answer

As a Product Engineer, I sit at the intersection of design and code — closer to a UX engineer than a pure software engineer. Focusing on UX is central to how I build, not an afterthought. I believe a 'feature' isn't 'done' when the code is merged; it's 'done' when the user can achieve their goal effortlessly. This mindset is the foundation of my product-focused approach.

Question 5

Are you pursuing Product Owner roles?

Accepted Answer

Yes—Product Owner is a career path I'm actively building toward. Today I work as a Product Engineer at the design–code intersection; over time I want to own discovery, prioritization, and outcomes end to end. My Scrum background, product discovery experience, and user-first delivery all point in that direction.

Question 6

How do you handle ambiguity and changing requirements?

Accepted Answer

I embrace them—change is a core part of the Agile/Scrum process. When requirements change, I don't see it as a problem; I see it as 'new information.' My first step is to ask 'why' to understand the new business goal or user insight. Then, I collaborate with the team (PO, BA, Designers) to assess the impact, break down the new task, and re-prioritize.

Question 7

How do you work with a freelance client?

Accepted Answer

We start with a short conversation about the problem, who's affected, and what success looks like—you don't need a technical spec upfront. I help clarify scope and timing, keep communication simple, and focus on whether the solution works for real users. My goal is to solve the right need, not to impress with tools.

Question 8

Can I get your CV?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Recruiters and hiring managers can use the Request CV button on the Connect page, or email thuyhankim@gmail.com with the subject "[CV request]". I send my CV personally to each request.
